I have two kids in this leadership development class and we love this class! They come home very excited about activities they are helping to lead. They are planning events and this class makes it fun yet very educational.
They talk about how much they enjoy going to class and are going to be disappointed when it ends. Both of my kids say they like knowing what is going on with bills in Congress which they learn about in this class.
My daughter had a blast in this class. Audrey is nuerodivergent and has a hard time reading and writing at “class level”. I really enjoyed that in this class, she was able to participate fully without any extra accommodations and able to work and socialize with her peers. She also developed a deeper passion for Lego building.
It was good. My favorite part was homebuilds and reviewing them in class with everyone.
This was a great class for my son! He loves playing with legos. This class gave his lego playtime structure and purpose. He loved attending each week!
I loved thinking of new things to create with legos. We had a lot of fun in the class. I learned about new things in my city. I hope to take another Lego class!
I wasn't sure about this class due to subject matter, but we tried it for our daughter and appreciated the thoughtful preparation that helped us understand the lessons to be learned. We learned as a family from our daughter.
She found it to be a little work (she tends to like no work) and thought-provoking and enjoyed it a lot.
This thought-provoking course taught my teens to practice critical thinking skills through studying the Harry Potter series and identifying similarities to other classic literature. One of their favorite high school electives!
My child was reluctant to take an art class, but she ended up producing some wonderful art! I appreciated the various media they used and my favorite was the sculpture my daughter made. The teachers were kind and patient; willing to work with each student as an individual. It was very informative.
The teacher didn't do the work for me, but explained it well.
This was a great introduction to WeDo 2.0 Lego Robotics. Not only did Lexi and Hunter explain the coding behind WeDo 2.0, but they also taught the kids morse code, as well as emphasizing working as a team. Both my 10yo son AND my 8yo daughter had a great time and really enjoyed the class.
Rex age 10 "I LOVED IT!!! It's fun and it really helps you learn about robotics. The missions were fun and challenging."
Avielle age 8 "It was GREAT!!! If you're interested in building Lego robots, and learning about space, then you should take this class."
The class was fun for my daughter and piqued her learning in a subject for which she has only marginal interest. The instructor is fun and helpful. She came home each time full of excitement about what they made and did that day. She loves the instructor.
The class kept the kids interested and she did some great experiments. She sent home experiments for them to do on their own, too, which were a big hit.
It was fun.
It was a wonderful class and well organized! The material was age-appropriate and engaging. Marsha did a fantastic job!
He looked forward to every Wednesday going to class. He loved the experiments and hands-on learning style.
It teaches you about government and is just overall really fun. My favorite thing would be mock leg
It’s a fun way to learn about government with lots of interactive stuff(no pun intended). My favorite thing is mock leg. It was so much fun!
This is a great introduction into how our state government works. The adults and teens in charge were committed to providing a high quality program and all three of my kids left with knowledge and practical experience that will benefit them for a lifetime.
The activities were very well done and fun to participate in. Mock Legislature was great but I’d would have liked more information about it beforehand because it seemed like everyone assumed we had done Teen Pact and we were a little lost at first. It’s was cool that teenagers were leading it.
A fantastic leadership class that helps students understand every aspect of voting to creating bills, debating them, what happens on the legislative floor, how the entire mock legislature session works. They even have an opportunity to run for election seats, understanding the role of elected officials and their districts. Ran by student leaders, the students have a great time while learning all the ends and outs.
This is the best class I have ever done. Inspiring to run for an elected official some day. Empowering to dream big and go after it to change the world.
This program was a huge success. Two of my children participated. They were both challenged and looked forward to class each day. It was a lot of fun. I learned about leadership.
The STUFF Legislature is my favorite part.
This was an excellent in-person alternative to TeenPact 2021. My daughter had a great time learning about and "owning" the legislative process, as the students ran campaigns, held elections, introduced bills and formed committees to pass or "kill" them. She made many new friends. Her activities initiated family conversations about the nuances of the legislative process and gave her a great perspective of what it means to be an informed and involved citizen. THANK YOU for such an amazing event!!
My daughter came home each day smiling, with plenty of stories about her committee experiences and some of the hilarious bills that had been introduced. She looked forward to each new day. She admired the work that the older and more experienced students put into the event and spoke about how kind they were to her and the other students. She especially loved the evening social events and is looking forward to social opportunities in the future with her new friends (particularly dances ;D).
This class requires a lot of reading and discussions. It is really helpful in preparing for college. I like the clarity of assignments.
It’s like kind of tough, a lot reading. The teacher is very helpful.
This class has taken my boys from reluctant writers to budding poets! We use to have battles and tears when it would come time for writing, but now my kids are writing poetry and journaling for fun! Georgia showed the kids how learning to write is not only essential, but it is also lot of fun, and we are so grateful to her!
Mrs. Babb was really nice and you learn a bunch of stuff like how to do a concrete poem and acrostic poem.
Mrs. Babb was a very encouraging teacher and this class was super exciting and fun!
This class encouraged my 8 yr old (3rd grader) & 11 yr old (6th grader) to write in ways that were fun and creative. Georgia did a great job of giving feedback to the kids in ways that were positive and my kids looked forward to her class every week. You can see how much Georgia loves teaching because of the ways she interacts with the kids. I would highly recommend this class!
They both looked forward to it every week and enjoyed it!
Make your kids take this class, even if they don't want to!
.I am the student in this case and I wasn't sure I wanted to take this class in the first place. My mom made me take it and I am so glad she did! I thought I was bad at writing essays but it turns out I just needed some guidance. I am a second time alumni to TeenPact this year and I was a bit stressed out about writing the two required essays but now I feel confident that I can get through them. And not only get through them, but do well on them without all of the stress I had before. We've only had two classes so far and I have learned so much already!
Parent: Fun extracurricular class for the upper elementary student! They learned a lot through the study of different kids of maps and it encouraged them to learn all the States!
Student: I had fun leaning about maps!
I memorized all the states!
Parent: My daughter looked forward to this class each week and was eager to show me what she had accomplished. Mrs. Downs makes the sewing projects simple enough that students experience success, which is very encouraging.
Your child should take this class!
Student: It's great! It's fun and I learned a lot.
Parent: My daughter had no previous art training and was able to draw a beautiful flower with coloring that looks as though an adult did it. Deborah was a great teacher and very patient and kind!
Student: "I really liked my art class. I liked that my teacher used easy steps for me to learn how to draw."
Parent: I love how enthusiastic the teacher is about science! My son is able to do the workbook at home and then have the concepts he has learned reinforced by the experiments that he does with Ms. Beverley. I highly recommend this class!
Student:"The experiments are fun and I like the teacher."
This is a great class with hands on activities and lots of singing to make learning fun. She absolutely loves to attend math class. She’s musically driven and she remembers her skip counting.
Parent: Highly recommend this class to everyone. Beverley is amazing with every one. My daughter with down syndrome mastered her counting by twos and fives.
Student: *** loves her math class! She looks forward to math every week.
Parent: This class is a fun way to approach math enrichment. My children (6 & 8) had fun and practiced some things that we would not have covered at home. The teacher was resourceful and brought in games from home that were unique and engaging.
Students: We had fun!
My favorite part was the puzzles.
Parent: This class was great for accountability in getting the Teen Pact homework done. Teen Pact is new to us, so it was also a great introduction on what Teen Pact is. The kids also got to connect with other Teen Pact kids before they spend the week with them at Teen Pact.
Student: I learned how a bill is passed and how many bills go through our state each year!
Parent: Dr. Jenny is very knowledgeable about nature and our area in particular. All of my kids have learned many interesting things! When we hike as a family, they are able to identify plants, bugs, etc. and give details about each of them. We as parents are very grateful for all they have learned.
Student: We learned a lot about bees and how they make honey. I enjoyed dissecting a flower. It was a fun class!
Parent: All 5 of our kids have learned a great deal about the world around them. We have enjoyed being taught about our native plants by the kids when we hike or even walk around our property. Dr. Jenny has a great relationship with her students and is willing to pursue their interests.
Student: Its a really good class. I really enjoyed learning about bees and bugs. I now have a pet bug (Blue Fainting Death Beetle). I like going outside to learn.
Parent: We have been impressed with how much our kids have learned in Dr. Jenny's class. I'm thankful for both the information shared and the enthusiasm to look more closely at the plants, bugs, and animals in our enviroment.
Student: It was very enjoyable and fun. I had fun learning about everything from honeybees to ants . Dr. Jenny is fun and nice .
Parent: This is the third year we attempted Biology and the first year we are getting through it! The accountability of having a class combined with Beverly's knowledge and skill in teaching has been so incredibly helpful! I REALLY appreciate the opportunity to have this class and I highly recommend it!
Student: This has been a great opportunity to learn. Mrs. Beverly is an awesome teacher. She make learning a lot of fun! I highly recommend this class!
Parent: This class has been such a help in getting through this course! She is able to be creative in her teaching methods and engage every student! I highly recommend her classes!!
Student: I wanted to take this class because I plan to be a nurse. I enjoyed the experiments - especially the microscope work. It was fun to make a jello cell. I really like Mrs. Beverly and her teaching techniques!
Parent: Mr. Koerner runs a wonderful kickball program! Both of my sons (8 & 12) enjoyed the class. It was great to have so many age/skill levels.
Student: I can't wait until kickball starts again!
Parent: This week long class was an overview of different games. My sons really enjoyed it, and the class was held in the morning before it got too hot!
Student: I liked learning different games.
