Get your high schooler to join in The Great Conversation -- and nail out 2.5 high school credits at the same time!  In The Great, the Classic, and the Ancient we will use primary sources (a.k.a “The Great Books”), history/literature helps, and classical methodology to chronologically work our way through the fantastic literature and compelling history of Creation through the Fall of Rome.

Class participation is vital and expected.  Grading will include participation, discussions, short essays/written answers, and one or two longer writing projects.

Books & Materials Needed:
  • 3-ring binder w/paper & dividers
  • Bible – ESV Version Recommended.  I HIGHLY recommend the ESV Literary Study Bible.
  • Primary Source Books:  Most of these are available for free or very inexpensive on Amazon Kindle and other electronic readers.  You can also borrow copies from the library.  A list will be made available to those who sign up for the class.

Omnibus Books are beautiful, fabulous, and EXPENSIVE!  Purchase these books USED if at all possible, and be sure you are purchasing the less expensive STUDENT text. You can find used Omnibus books at: www.ebay.com, www.abebooks.com, and www.amazon.com 3rd party sellers just to name a few options.  Do note the redeeming quality of these books is the high resale value if you decide not to hold on to them.  (If purchasing the Omnibus Texts is a hardship for your family, please speak to me.)
