Class Description:
Foundations in Personal Finance for high school is a dynamic learning experience. Teaching is delivered via video by Dave Ramsey and his team of experts including his daughter, Rachel Cruze, and Chris Hogan. More than 35 activities are included that focus on providing 21st century personal finance knowledge and skills in a student-centered approach to learning.
Instructor:
Jessica Davis has 20 years’ experience homeschooling her two daughters in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and holds a BS in Telecommunications Management from DeVry Institute of Technology (now DeVry University). While utilizing Dave Ramsey’s Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum, she has enjoyed teaching homeschool high schoolers how to become balanced consumers who are prepared to make wise financial decisions for life; she has also assisted her husband in teaching numerous adult Financial Peace University classes, also from Dave Ramsey. Jessica and her husband believe Christians are to be good stewards of all God has provided for us and have lived under the debt-free principle for most of their 26-year marriage. As a stay-at-home wife and mother, she has operated her own business, worked as a church secretary and as a bookkeeper for a small business, employed various other sources to bring additional income into their home, and managed all their household income and expenses including successfully saving, budgeting, giving, preparing taxes, shopping and vacationing economically, all while not acquiring debt.
