Always Be Ready!
Has your student been frustrated when trying to defend his point of view because he can't think of what to say? Does her mind go Blank when she is asked to speak "off the cuff?" Does he lack confidence? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions. Always Be Ready! is for your student!
1Peter 3:15 is the foundation for this class. Students will learn to articulate and persuade in a respectful manner by practicing both impromptu and prepared speeches, and participating in class discussion and exercises. Students will learn critical thinking, logic, note taking, and research. All this is done in a safe, enjoyable atmosphere with the ultimate goal of learning to defend their faith and their values.
Prerequisites: Say It With Class, Toastmasters, or placing 1-3 in a speech contest, OR Say It With Class concurrently
Students are expected to do approximately 60-90 minutes of homework per week.

Nancy Lauser (rhymes with saucer) taught speech and debate to homeschool students for over nine years, including five years with Heights Homeschool Organization, and two years of debate at Rio Grande Enrichment Studies. Nancy does occasional workshops for CAPE and other homeschool groups. In addition to teaching speaking skills, she currently belongs to Toastmasters to work on improving her own skills, where she has achieved the Advanced Silver Level. Nancy and her husband have two young adult sons who were homeschooled their entire school careers, and they all lived to tell about it!
