Fine Art for the Young or Young at Art
Refined Art Made Simple
Instructor: Deborah Klose
I previously homeschooled my three children and
I have had the joy of teaching art for nearly 30 years
to children and adults who are young at art.
Projects and Materials:
Projects (subjects) are a combination of ones I choose and ones the students are specifically interested in: animals, people, still life, nature…
Materials are included in the cost: Students experience a variety of mediums: professional colour pencils, graphite, pastels, watercolour, and acrylic paint. I learned to spell colour from my first paint box as a child.
My Goal is for the young artist or art-hesitant to learn impactful, yet simple steps to enhance and refine their art pieces in a comfortable environment.
More About Me: Instructing art started with being asked to mentor neighboring children in my home-studio. Then I was asked to teach in private schools and invited as a guest artist in public schools.
Art Style: My preference is a more realistic style art. Because pop and modern was taught when I was young, I am self-taught in realism. It has turned out to be a good thing and has made it fun to pass on what I have learned through personal experience.
Samples: Visit Deborah’s Art Attic on Facebook (address below) to view a small sampling of students’ work and instruction videos made for “Where Stories Begin” on YouTube to learn a little bit about art.
Hourly rate: Private – one student - $25/hr.
more than one student - $20/hr.
siblings - $16/hr.
Materials are included.
