Private Voice Lessons
Private Voice Lessons Offered
Hi my name is Lara Moore and I have a successful voice studio here in the Albuquerque area, and I have some openings beginning in January 2017.
Your child will be instructed in excellent vocal technique. They begin by learning to raise their soft palette in order to focus the pitch. Next, they will learn to use proper breath management to create the absolute best sound for their voice. In addition, your child will learn to sing using dynamics, interpretation and staging in order to engage the audience and create a memorable performance.
I will prepare your child for auditions for All State Choir, Sante Fe Young Singers, Youth Praise Bands and any other goals they may have. My desire is to help students discover their God given gifts and use them for His glory!
My students have received scholarships to study voice performance at the University of New Mexico and at the University of Northern Colorado. They have received scholarships to study in New York with Broadway directors and have sung in the chorus for professional opera companies and receive lead and supporting roles in local musical theater companies. I have some students that are in Santa Fe Young Singers and All State choir in both the junior and senior high levels.
I have been teaching private voice for over 8 years. I began as a jazz vocalist, then went onto sing musical theater and traveled and sang as the lead soprano in a group from college called "heaven bound." I then went onto sing various roles with Loveland Opera Theater for two seasons. Finally, I was asked to sing professionally with Opera Unlimited. I am now called upon to sing for various events in town and with our New Mexico District church denomination functions as well as in the praise band at our church.
Students come once a week for a half hour session. The cost is $20 including tax….which ends up being $80.00 a month most months. I have given group rates and sibling rates as well. I will work with you to accommodate you and your schedule. I am receiving beginners as well as advanced students, and I instruct adults as well as children.
Please feel free to call me for your first free lesson 505- 792-8558 or email me [email protected]

Reviews and Recommendations
We were so sad to leave Ms. Lara when we moved out of state. When my daughter auditioned with a professor and PhD of Vocal Music at Cal Poly, Pomona, the professor said, "Wow, thank you to your voice teacher in New Mexico. She gave you a great foundation!" The professor also told my daughter that her mid-range is so rich and full and how rare that is for a 14-year old.
My daughter studied with Ms. Lara for four years. We appreciate her concern for the care of a young developing voice and making sure not injure the voice. She has a wonderful ear for voices and is very good at listening and determining what her student can do to improve the sound or pitch. She always has a variety of imagery and exercises to help. She worked with my daughter on classical, opera, musical theater, Christian and contemporary music. She helped her prep for auditions and performances with technical, staging, and emotional aspects.
As a person and mentor, Ms. Lara is kind, encouraging, thoughtful, sweet and always a pleasure to work with. We absolutely love her and recommend her highly.

I would like to recommend to you Lara Moore, a wonderful voice teacher/coach that our family has had for the past 3 and 1/2 years. She has many gifts which have made her an ideal educator for teenagers. My children have been safe in her studio. They have been constantly encouraged, and supported in all of their voice endeavors. She has been a friend and a cheerleader. I can’t express how important this is when a teenager is exploring his/her vocal capabilities. She has taught them many vocal techniques, breathing techniques, and taught them terminology used by their college level teachers. My children have now been blessed with some very fine college level teachers. I know that the transition would have been very difficult without the foundation given by Lara, and would have been impossible without the self confidence that she helped them gain. Having a teacher who believes in you, treats you respectfully, and cheers you on in your progress is worth more than gold. My children have been so lucky to have
her as a teacher, and have been fortunate to have her to prepare them for the higher requirements of their wonderful college level teachers.
One of the wonderful aspects of Lara as a teacher is that she is flexible, she has worked with them on Opera, musical theater, pop, and yes, even country. She has helped them think about staging, and conveying emotion while singing. All the way she has been positive and fun. I highly recommend her as a teacher.
Sincerely,
Mary Rudd
