Is your middle schooler prepared for Algebra? This course will give them a solid foundation for Algebra. They will develop a good understanding of place value, order of operations, fractions, percents, decimals, ratios, the metric system, unit conversions,exponents, roots, scientific notation, distributive property, angles, quadrants, plotting points, and working with geometric formulas. Regardless of where your middle school student is with math right now this class will prepare him or her for Algebra I. However, the most important prerequisite to this class is that your student know their multiplication facts. Please spend some time this summer mastering the multiplication facts.
The instructor, Anita Bruce, has her BA in Secondary Education with a minor in Mathematics. She has taught HS, adults, even elementary, and tutored all ages for years along with homeschooling the last 4 years. Please note: she is not certified in special education. She loves to make math enjoyable to all.
