Sailer Fine Art
ART CLASSES FOR KIDS!
Jason and Bethe Sailer, or Sailer Fine Art and Instruction, teach Art Classes for Kids!
They have between 35 and 50 students at any given time, all of whom can be found in the process of making art: drawing, painting, sculpting, pottery and more.
Regular classes are offered at their home-based studio and also at PLANT in Albuquerque and Cedar Crest.
In addition, they have taught at the four Albuquerque Hobby Lobby stores, for the City of Albuquerque at South Broadway Cultural Center, for APS, and for non-profit organizations: Explora, the Museum of Natural History and Science, UNM Continuing Education and Art in the School, Inc.
Bethe and Jason each have a BFA degree from ENMU Portales.
Projects and Materials: An overall focus is chosen for each unit, and students choose their own subject matter within that focus. Students are asked to bring in visual references, providing research experience necessary for artists. Materials are included in the cost of the class. Each student will learn to draw, to paint and to sculpt – interpreting their chosen subject in both 2-and 3-dimensions. Artwork is sent home upon completion of each unit.
Our goal is for each student to develop as an artist. Beginners will learn basic skills, more experienced artists will advance and refine their existing skills.
Our teaching style encompasses realistic art. We are schooled in many types of art-making, and have found through experience that realism promotes the most growth and ultimate mastery.
