Say It With Class: Public Speaking Class

Lessons include: Impromptu speeches, prepared speeches, interpretive reading, giving and receiving evaluations, enunciation exercises, and "think on your feet" games. Students gain confidence and develop skill in speaking.
Instructor places a high value on respect. She respects the students, and expects them to treat her and each other with respect (even if they are siblings!).
Students should expect to spend 1-2 hours per week on homework for this class.
Nancy has had a wide variety of students, including students with learning challenges. If you are concerned about your student being able to be successful in this class, please call!

Nancy Lauser (rhymes with saucer) has been teaching public speaking to homeschool students since 2000. In addition, she taught competitive speech and debate for nine years, including five years with Heights Homeschool Organization, and two years of debate at Rio Grande Enrichment Studies. She retired from the competitive aspect of speaking, but continues to teach public speaking for everyday communication. Nancy does occasional workshops for CAPE and other homeschool groups. She is a long-time member of Toastmasters International to continue improving her own skills. Nancy and her husband have two adult sons whom they home-educated their entire school careers.
