Take A Bow!
This class is designed to explore the fun and function of drama and theatre for older students. Students will explore acting genres from comedy to dramatic interpretation to improv. They will produce several sketches throughout the year and learn the process from beginning to end.
Confidence building games and beginning techniques for the stage will be taught. These include voice modulation, projection, stage presence, and character development. Writing for the stage, blocking, stage etiquette, and the creative process will also be included. Imagination will always be encouraged!
A focus of the class will be how we are created in the image of God and that He has given each of us the ability to be creative. We will be using Scripture and Bible stories as a foundation of the class.
Denise Raykovics has a Bachelors Degree in Broadcasting and owns her own production company. She lived in Brussels, Belgium working with voice actors for the cartoon “Super Book”, Romanian translation, and training others how to produce television. She is also a director of children’s theatre and high school - adult productions. She has worked with the NM Fine Arts Festival for 20 years as a judge and as a coach. She is a Certified Minister and enjoys nothing more than encouraging others in their Faith. She is also a Missions Consultant for the NM Ministry Network and brings her international experience into every class she teaches.
