“Add Music to your life!”
What my students will learn: My students will learn how hold the guitar, strum, and pluck guitar strings properly. They will learn how to put their figures on the fret board and produce sound by plucking or strumming the strings. They will learn the letter notes on the guitar, as well as, the corresponding notes on the staff. They will learn chords. They will learn proper playing techniques to all different genres of music, including, rock, reggae, classical, and jazz.
Materials: The book we will be studying out of: “Jerry Snyder’s Guitar School: Method Book 1” (it is available on Amazon and in most music shops). Pencil and notebook to keep track of materials and assignments. A guitar, preferably a classical guitar (it is easier on the fingers when first learning) however, steel string acoustic guitars will be acceptable also. If you need to purchase one I would recommend Grandma’s Music and Sound, Guitar Center, or Music Go Round. You should be able to find an entry level guitar at any of these for about $100.
