Algebra 1
This is beginning Algebra 1. Students should expect to progress through the first 1/2 of the Saxon Algebra 1 textbook during this semester.
Prerequisite: Please read the description under the Middle School Math class and ask the student if they feel proficient with those topics.

This course will cover: solving multivariable equations using substitution or process of elimination, graphing number line conjunctions, polynomial equations, graphing linearequations, complex fractions, higher order roots, addition and multiplication of radicalexpressions, factoring trinomials, the difference of squares, writing the equation of a line, word problems with consecutive integers or consecutive even/odd integers,subscripted variables used for word problems, operations with Scientific Notation, solve equations by graphing, long division of polynomials, value/coin problems, quadratic equations, uniform motion problems, factoring by grouping, writing an equation of a line through 2 points or given the slope, completing the square, and the quadratic formula.
The instructor, Anita Bruce, has her BA in Secondary Education with a minor in Mathematics. She has taught HS, adults, even elementary, and tutored all ages for years along with homeschooling the last 4 years. She loves to make math enjoyable to
